Peperomia

Picture
   Peperomia
(Baby Rubber Plant) Peperomia obtusifolia

This plant is an endangered Florida native!

This evergreen perennial makes an excellent ground cover and will climb trees.  Great in pots on the lanai or as a houseplant.  Wonderful gift for our northern friends.

Soil: Likes moist, loose, well drained humusy soil.  Acid to neutral ph. Does not tolerate salt water or salty wind.
Propagation:  Easy from cuttings
Sun: light shade or full shade... no direct sun. These plants do well under fluorescent lighting!
Size: 1’ tall but will spread into a ground cover.
Habit: Spreading - will cascade over the side of planter or hanging basket.
Water: likes to be kept moist but not soaking wet.
Pests: resistant to most
Zone: 10-12
Flowers: greenish white spikes... interesting but not particularly showy.
Fertilize occasionally with a balanced houseplant food after watering.

Happehatchee is a Sanctuary for Peace and Healing
